The first Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator in northern Spain entered clinical operation earlier this year at Clinica IMQ Zorrotzaurre in Bilbao. MPSi worked with the clinic’s physics team in the commissioning process. The project generated valuable data relating to the new DMI panel and its use in IMRT and Rapid Arc QA testing with FFF energies. IMQ’s chief physicist, Patricia Gago, was instrumental in gathering this data. This work was submitted to the 3rd ESTRO Forum 2015 as a collaboration between MPSi and IMQ and presented by Dr. Gloria Beyer at the meeting in Barcelona. IMQ’s Chief of Radiation Oncology, Dr. Pedro Ensunza, recognizes the importance of cutting edge technology in patient treatment. Clinica IMQ and MPSi continue to work together to ensure that the new linear accelerator is utilized to its full potential.
