As part of the Scottish radiotherapy improvement program, the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (NHS Grampian) in Aberdeen has recently brought two new Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators and is preparing to implement a third TrueBeam linear accelerator by early 2014. MPSi worked closely with the medical physics team to successfully commission these new linear accelerators. MPSi has also worked with the medical physicists, the planning team, and the radiation oncologists to assist this facility in implementing the Rapid Arc (VMAT) treatment delivery program. This advanced treatment modality offers a faster and more efficient radiotherapy delivery technique for cancer treatment. MPSi continues to work closely with Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to provide expert assistance in the implementation of the new radiotherapy equipment and treatment techniques.
